so lied to wife to go to apostafest meetup....hopped on bike..and btw...i stole her ipod...the little white 4gig one....loaded it up off an employees song list at work...not the best..but ok..tons of johnny cash....made it almost to charlotte on the interstate...rode 95 mph the whole way...do that a lot...not sure why...but was going for a new record to charlotte....and then...the hard rain began....shit.

i am pretty good in storm on a bike fortunately...slowed and followed a ups semi in the right lane...with our drought apparently everyone has forgotten to slow when it rains!

!...27 cars in 2 miles...several were pile ups...but funny...i was sooooo nearly killed or wonderfully maimed.

I must say Oompa is one of the most interesting characters I've met in a long time! Just a nice guy all around! Anyways I wish some more people would have showed up, but perhaps more will next month. Just have to wait and see. I think if you would have stayed Oompa you may have thrown back some drinks. I ended up getting a bit tipsy by the time everyone left. Next time maybe you can bring your son and we can hit up the Penguin!

One of the best I heard of was my brother telling me of the "No Myspace" talk...the brother who gave it was posing as a teenage boy lurking on other teenagers in the hall waiting for a trap...now that is ripe for "To Catch a Predator". I heard the "no sitcoms" talk which was just sttttuuuuppppppidddddd.

Drew Carey is very vocal about being Republican so it wouldn't be a stretch to think he might be a bit conservative Christian...however the bigger joke is JW's trying to stretch have someone as a spokesperson who isn't whacko.

Do ASL dubs recruit more aggressively than other dubs?

asl = american sign language for those who don't know.. i read a recent post on dubs knocking at doors and asking if anyone knew asl.. here's my experience.. .

i attended a jw sponsored asl course about 4 years ago in a neighboring congregation.

there were about 15 students in total.. the lesson was not to exceede 3 hours and afterwards we would go straight out into service.. the lessons were fun and we were given homework assignments to learn the various signs etc.

I was asked to attend one but it never suited my fancy. They were their own world and I had my own, I felt it better we all didn't clash. Anyways my Mom was telling me about how there is one brother who goes to quite the extremes to find some deaf converts.

HTC Mogul flashed to Cricket (can't beat unlimited Internet for 6 bucks a month. Hell I can watch pr0n from work on my phone! I will admit though my phone was expensive.

Why I will NEVER be an elder again

so the po confirmed what many on this board already know.

at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.

any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.

Yea the great irony in all this is that those who do go to college and stay get used by the RBC or any other group that can use them. A few years ago there was a stink in the local hall because two girls decided they wanted to be doctors. I think both of them left the org but you wouldn't believe the crap they caught for it (actually you would believe it but a worldly person wouldn't). I think I was one of the only people who actually defended their choice, I explained to my Mom that at the very least they could be used in the local hall because lot's of JW's are untrusting of doctors and many doctors do not know much about the blood doctrine or JW's in general. At the most they would be used at Bethel...that made my Mom change her tune a bit. Still it's just funny that during college bad but after now that we can use your expertise some how it's all good baby!
